Book waxing in Zurich

Say goodbye to daily shaving and enjoy velvety soft skin for weeks to come.

To give you an all-round good feeling, we offer a wide range of hair removal services in our salon in Zurich.

However, as we know that some skin types are particularly sensitive or that some people struggle with allergies, we offer the gentle sugaring method in our salon as an alternative to classic waxing in Zurich.

Waxing generally refers to a form of
hair removal
in which the hair is removed using warm wax. At the Sugaring In contrast, we use a natural sugar paste that is gently applied to the skin by hand and then carefully removed. This method is therefore not only particularly gentle on the skin, but also achieves long-lasting results, just like classic waxing.

Difference between waxing and sugaring

Waxing in Zurich is a form of hair removal in which the hair is removed using warm wax. We recommend sugaring as it is a gentler & more natural version of hair removal. Waxing and sugaring in Zurich differ in many aspects, whether in consistency, application or treatment interval.

Waxing and sugaring in Zurich differ in many aspects, including their consistency, application and treatment intervals. Waxing also differs from sugaring in that it…

Waxing is more painful than sugaring.

Although the perception of pain varies greatly from person to person, waxing is generally described as more unpleasant.

Waxing can be very painful because of the procedure and the sometimes too hot wax. This is not the case with sugar gel, as it is applied without heating.

Wax consists largely of chemical ingredients, whereas sugar gel consists of 100% natural ingredients. At HR Hair Removal GmbH, we also use our own sugar gel“Grandma’s Sugar” and therefore guarantee you a vegan natural product.

When the wax is applied, it not only sticks to the hair but also to the skin, which can cause severe irritation. Our sugar gel only sticks to dead skin cells. Hair is gently removed along with the root and a natural exfoliation takes place at the same time. Thanks to this property, sugaring can also be used several times on one area of skin without damaging the skin.

In addition, our sugar gel is water-soluble, so the skin is simply washed with water at the end of the treatment. This soothes the skin and is therefore also suitable for very sensitive and allergic skin. What’s more, all residues are removed by the next shower at the latest and there are no annoying wax stains that are still sticking to the skin after three days.

The cooled and hard wax, on the other hand, hits the soft skin and hair, which increases the chance of hair breakage compared to sugaring.
The wax grips the hair at all costs. However, it can happen that the hair is not professionally removed together with the root when the wax is torn off, but is broken off instead.

Broken hairs can then grow in and cause skin irritation, thus negatively affecting the long-term result. With sugaring, on the other hand, our sugar gel is so gentle that the hair is either properly removed along with the root or we go over it again until it has been completely removed along with the root. This results in fewer ingrown hairs and the result is far more satisfactory and long-lasting.

The sugar gel is also applied by hand, which gives a more pleasant feeling than waxing. This means that the entire body can be depilated by hand and sugar gel alone. In contrast to waxing, the sugar gel remains soft at all times when applied by a professional.

Thanks to its soft consistency, the sugar gel grips the hair further down and allows the sugar gel to be removed both in and against the direction of hair growth without the hair breaking.

Especially for a
Brazilian waxing
our sugaring method is also the much gentler, more gentle and less painful option – why not give it a try!

How does waxing actually work?

Unlike shaving, waxing removes the hair at the root.

As with all epilation methods, this slows down hair growth. The skin therefore remains smooth for longer than with depilation (e.g. shaving) and the hairs that grow back are thinner, less noticeable and softer.

The warm, viscous wax is applied to the area to be depilated using a spatula. After a short time, the wax cools and solidifies.

The wax is then removed in one go. Several forms of treatment can be considered as follow-up treatment. When removing hair with wax, there is a greater risk of
risk of hairs breaking off and growing in
.

Cooling or pain-relieving creams do not help during the treatment and the result (increased hair breakage) is negatively affected.

Why we prefer the sugaring method for our waxing in Zurich

After a lot of research and testing, we opted for sugaring as this technique is gentler on the skin. As the paste only adheres to the old flakes of skin and hair, it does not damage the skin. This method is perfect for sensitive skin as the sugar gel contains no chemical ingredients, just sugar, water and lemon, making it 100% natural and vegan. This prevents allergic reactions and the gel is nourishing and skin-friendly.

Sugar gel also causes less pain and enables efficient root depilation due to the softness of the gel.

Our waxing in Zurich using the sugaring method is also bacteria-resistant and suitable for all hair types.

Frequently asked questions about waxing

What is waxing?

Waxing is a special hair removal method that is both very thorough and gentle. Waxing also leads to long-lasting results. Waxing is suitable for both women and men. During the treatment, the hair is removed directly from the root.

Before you decide on waxing, it is advisable to let your body hair grow until it is at least 5 mm long. This means that, as a rule, you should not shave or epilate for two complete weeks. Only then can an optimum result be guaranteed.

As a rule, a waxing treatment lasts between three and six weeks. However, it is very important that the waxing treatment is always carried out very professionally. Regular waxing makes the hair structure finer and finer each time, so that the waxing result lasts longer.

If you opt for waxing, it is advisable to have it done regularly. Cosmeticians always recommend an interval of four to five weeks. If a person suffers from strong hair growth, the distance can also be shortened depending on the hair growth. However, your beautician can give you detailed advice on this subject.

Epilating takes considerably longer than waxing. In addition, the user actually perceives the treatment as much more painful than waxing. During a waxing treatment, many hairs are always removed at once. This means that the user perceives the sensation of pain differently.

The body starts to sweat during exercise. For this reason, a small wound can cause the hair to stick together, which can lead to a possible infection. The user should therefore not exercise, go to the solarium or visit a swimming pool for 24 hours after a waxing treatment.
